This versatility has been demonstrated in several case studies, where customers have successfully used the Laser Portable™ to verify gas fill rates during production and after installation.
A single measurement shows the gas fill rate at that moment, but it cannot on its own prove that the seal is gas-tight. Seal performance becomes visible when the same sealed units are measured again over time. A stable gas concentration indicates that the seal holds, while a clear drop indicates gas loss through the seal. EN 1279-3 limits the gas leakage rate of insulating glass units to less than 1% per year.
